Happy Rugs: When Floor Decor Becomes Art at Rugs.com

Who says rugs have to be rectangular, neutral or, well, boring? I've always loved interiors that don't take themselves too seriously, especially when decorating a home with kids. That's why I was so excited to see Rugs.com collaborate with Happy Rugs.

Founded by artist and designer Madeline Ronzoni, Happy Rugs is known for its whimsical, unconventional designs, from oversized flowers and smiley faces to wavy silhouettes and even rugs inspired by iced coffee and sneakers. They're the kind of pieces that instantly give a room personality without needing to completely redecorate.

Beyond the fun factor, the craftsmanship is equally appealing.... the scalloped runners MAKE our apartment because they add an instant "wow factor" when you walk in. I've seen bought a few more pieces including the above fruit salad.

The collection is especially appealing for anyone who gravitates toward interiors that feel collected rather than cookie-cutter. It's proof that a rug doesn't have to blend into the background and you can be both child-like and fun while being sophisticated. A funky flower rug can add an unexpected pop of color to an otherwise minimalist bedroom. A playful accent rug can transform an overlooked corner, while a bold design can become the centerpiece of a living room. The trick is mixing these whimsical pieces with more sophisticated furnishings. Pair a colorful rug with a sculptural chair, an acrylic side table or a streamlined sofa, and the contrast feels intentional rather than childish.

For families, it's an especially fun way to create a home that feels stylish while still embracing the joy and energy of having kids.
