The Israeli Design Brand My Kids Immediately Claimed for Themselves

There are certain pieces you bring into your home with a very specific vision for where they’re going to live and then there are the pieces your kids immediately decide belong to them. That’s basically what happened when our Knots Studio ottoman arrived.

I was already drawn to the brand because of its Israeli roots. It immediately brought me back to the years we lived in Tel Aviv, when nearly all of our furniture was custom made in Jaffa. I loved that everything felt personal and a little less mass-produced, with pieces that actually had a story behind them. Knots Studio gives me that same feeling. Founded by textile designer Neta Tesler, the Tel Aviv-based brand is known for its sculptural knot furniture. And in our house, they are definitely being lived with.

I had plans for our knot ottoman, but my kids had other ideas. They immediately dragged it into their bedroom and essentially claimed it as their own. They sit on it, move it around and somehow work it into whatever they’re doing that day. I love when something I choose because it looks beautiful ends up being just as appealing to them. We also use one of the Knots Studio benches by our entryway, where it has become the perfect spot for putting on and taking off shoes. It makes the space feel finished while also serving a very practical purpose... and the pieces come in an assortment of color to coordinate with whatever color scheme is happening in your home!
